Storage Combi Boiler

What is a Storage combi boiler?

A Storage combi boiler is different than your system boiler and Heat only boiler. The main advantage of a combi boiler is that it can heat up  water directly from the boiler and produce hot water at your hot water outlets, such as showers, baths, taps etc.

This removes the need for a hot water cylinder in the airing cupboard, thus creating more space in the home.

The storage combi is as what it describes, it has a small cylinder attached to the boiler internally that is always hot, when the hot water is drawn off through an outlet the boiler uses the  stored water in the cylinder for high pressure showers, taps etc. The boiler then reheats the water in the cylinder as it is been used.

The Viessmann 111 storage combi boasts the equivalent of a 180ltre hot water cylinder with 18ltrs per minute flow rate. This storage combi can run 2 or more shower at a time with out a struggle. The placement of this particular boiler has to be considered as this is one of the largest boilers available due to the stored water facility.

When we install all our combi boilers we recommend installing a pump, the pump then drives the water to all the outlets, including the cold water supply and the hot water supply thus giving the customer a high pressure water system. In most instances we recommend upgrading the cold water storage tank in the attic for water capacity in the system feeding the pump.
